Dear Congregation,

Here are several updates and news items as we move into the weekend. Doug and I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.

PRAYER SUPPORT NEEDED. We are asking for your ongoing prayer support for infant Mackenzie Mebert, who was born May 1 and has been fighting for life at Children’s Hospital. Her parents, Kim & Mark, are newer to our congregation and are grateful for your prayers. Kenzie’s weakened condition does not allow the life-saving heart surgery that is needed. There are some last hopes being held out that she might become stronger over the next few days, but the family and medical personnel are mostly hoping for something miraculous at this point. It is always appropriate for the people of God to pray from their hearts for a miracle, along with prayers for strength and help for Kenzie’s parents & family during these difficult days. Mackenzie’s daily update is available at http://makenzieupdates.blogspot.com/

OTHER INFO FOR THIS WEEK:

WEEDING THE CHURCH FLOWERBEDS this Saturday morning, May 19, beginning at 7AM. Trustee Connie Wells will be “on her knees” at 7AM outside the church (with trowel in hand) so please consider joining her to make a hard job WAY easier! Just an hour will be a huge help.

CHILDREN/YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL will be on the following schedule this summer:
Sun. May 20 – last day of regular classes
Sun. May 27 – NO SUNDAY SCHOOL for children/youth (Memorial Day Weekend). Adult Classes, check with your leader.
Sun. June 3 – Summer classes begin for Ages 3 thru 4th Grade (older children & youth worship with their families during the summer).

VOLUNTEERS FOR SUMMER JOY DINNER. Info was sent by e-mail on May 15 about how to volunteer to keep the Wed. evening JOY Dinner going during the summer (May 30 to Labor Day). To volunteer, see the info on that e-mail or contact me and I’ll send it to you again. The deadline for responding is next Friday, May 24 so that a proper decision can be made about the summer status of JOY.
