The organized unit of United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
UMW develops its programs around the four mission emphases as reflected in our purpose, i.e., spiritual growth, social action, education and interpretation, and membership nurture and outreach. UMW maintains its own budget both at the national, conference and local church levels.
In calendar year 2010, over $5,100 was donated to 14 projects in the church, the community, and to the Conference. UMW is open to all women of LPUMC who are over 18 years of age. We meet on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
