Sunday Morning Fellowship

Every Sunday the congregation is encouraged to stay for a time of fellowship and refreshments after each worship service.  Volunteers are needed to arrange the distribution of food and beverages.  This provides a time for friends and members of LPUMC to interact and show Christ's love to each other.

New Member Orientation and Assimilation

This class offers and overview of Methodism in general and the purpose and mission of LPUMC in particular.  The Pastor shares his vision for LPUMC and responses to questions and concerns raised during each session.  Attendance is mandatory for anyone planning to join LPUMC.

Jesus, Others & You (J.O.Y) Dinner

Jesus, Others and You (J.O.Y.) is a fellowship opportunity around a common meal, which takes place every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  There is a small charge for the meal.  All are welcome!!

Alpha's Ministry

Our senior’s ministry, the Alphas, meet for a lunchtime meeting on the second Friday of each month at 12:30 p.m. to share in fellowship, devotion, and support.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring a friend.

Sports Activities

The church has both softball and volleyball teams that are always looking for new members.  Contact Roy Downs for more information at 301-994-1110.

United Methodist Men

This is open to all men in LPUMC.  The United Methodist Men’s Group (UMM) meets for dinner, fellowship, and programs at 6:00 p.m. on the second Monday of the month in the Fellowship Hall. There are discussions and responses to requests for assistance of men to support various church needs. 

United Methodist Women

This is open to all women in LPUMC.  They meet monthly in the Chapel for an evening of fellowship, devotion, support, prayer and discussion on a particular subject of interest.  This group supports a variety of outreach ministries such as Hospice, HOPE, Pregnancy Care Center, ASP, etc.  The United Methodist Women (UMW) meets the second Monday of each month in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m. 

Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF)

The Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) high school group meets every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. and the middle school group meets at 7:00 p.m. the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month. This ministry provides teenagers with a place where they know they are safe, welcome, and loved. It is our goal to provide an atmosphere of challenge and encouragement while upholding an environment that is distinctly Christian and one that honors Jesus Christ.

Greeting Card Ministry

"Sending God's love through the mail" - We send cards everyone in our church family for all special occasions.  We also send cards for sympathy, illness and encouragement.  A big part of the card ministry is sending "thinking of you" cards to our shut-ins on a regular basis.  Cards are also sent to all guests who visit our church.

Marriage Enrichment Program

This provides information on local Family Life sponsored events (I Still Do, Weekend to Remember, Rekindling the Romance) to help enrich your marriage.

Caring Committee

This group responds to requests of member of LPUMC in their time of need, e.g. hospitalization, serious, illness or death in the family.  Members of the committee prepare meals and offer support to those in need.
