Worship Times
Sunday Traditional Worship: 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in main Sanctuary
- Both the 8 & 11am services include traditional hymns & style. 8am includes a small choir twice a month; while the 11am service includes music by the weekly Chancel Choir, in addition to handbell choir & orchestra once per month.
- Nursery is professionally staffed to receive our youngest children during the 11am service. They welcome our infants and toddlers who are too young to participate in Children's Church. (See below for description of Children's Church.)
- Activity Bags for children to use in the pews are available at all services.
Sunday Contemporary Worship: 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall
- This service features contemporary music by our Praise Team (keyboard, guitars, drums & vocalists), and a less formal style of worship.
- Nursery is professionally staffed to receive our youngest children during the 9:30am service. They welcome our infants and toddlers who are too young to participate in Sunday School classes. (See below for description of our Sunday School classes.)
- Activity Bags for children to use in the pews are available at all services.
Sunday School & Children's Church
9:30am:
During the 9:30 hour, we offer age-level Sunday School Classes for 3-year-olds through Senior High.
Children & youth share in the opening portion of our 9:30 a.m. worship service, and then move to their classrooms for learning activities. Middle & High School youth remain in worship on the 1st Sunday of the month to share Communion with the church family.
11:00am: Children's Church is offered in a separate area during the sermon time for age 3 thru 2nd grade. Older children & youth remain in worship for this service.
Adult Sunday School class meets in the chapel at 11:00 a.m., with a variety of topics.
Location
Lexington Park UMC is located one block west from the main gate (Gate #2) of Patuxent River Naval Base on Great Mills Road. Coming from the base the church is the large brick building on your left. (Requires a U-turn at the stoplight.)
