WARM – The WARM program gives shelter to the homeless during the cold winter months by opening church buildings to overnight guests. WARM volunteers work to transform our Fellowship Hall into a temporary dormitory, prepare meals, and monitor safety overnight. LPUMC’s WARM week is usually the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
Community Ministry Team – This team works with local service providers to strategically direct our community ministry offerings to places of need within our community.
Clothes Closet - A group of faithful volunteers work together to provide clothing for our neighbors in need. We provide school clothes for children, coats for those who are cold, and interview attire for those seeking work.
Blankets of Love – The ladies of Blankets of Love gather weekly to make blankets and other items for newborns, shut-ins, and those in shelters, hospitals or nursing homes.
Christ's Carpenters - A group of capable men and women assist members of our church with minor home repairs or home maintenance. This group's purpose is to help church members who are in need and build relationships with one another and with those they serve.
Appalachia Service Project - ASP is a youth oriented service project that fosters human development by addressing the housing needs of Central Appalachia – repairing homes for 400-500 low-income families. The goal is to make homes warmer, safer, and drier for families in need, while offering transformational experience for families, volunteers and staff alike.
